 Consultancy Project: Development of the Science, Technology and Industrial Park in Binh Duong, Vietnam



Following the 11th WTA General Assembly and Global Innovation Forum held in Binh Duong, Vietnam in 2018, WTA contracted a consultancy project with Becamex IDC, a state-owned enterprise in Binh Duong, on the development of Science, Technology, and Industrial Park (STIP) in Binh Duong in February 2019.

 

The research team consists of 7 researchers, and Secretary-General Prof. Byung-Joo Kang is the head of the research team. The main areas of research work are:

  - The conceptual model of STIP development

  -  Land-use & basic plan for STIP development

  - STIP development and management plan

  - The strategic industry for STIP

  - Innovation policy direction for STIP

  - Financial analysis

In April 2019, the research team visited Binh Duong to make the initial report and focus-group interviews. In August 2019, the Becamex delegation visited Daejeon for mid-term report and bench-marking from scientific facilities and infrastructure for accelerating regional innovation in Daejeon.

In January 2020, the research team revisited Binh Duong, and made the final report of the consultancy project. The report was held on 8th and 9th January at the headquarters of Becamex IDC. Chairman Nguyen Van Hung and many senior officers enthusiastically participated in the report for two days, and had an intensive time of discussion.

 

We wish that this consultancy project can contribute to upbringing the industry of Binh Duong and Vietnam from labor-intensive ones to capital, technology, and knowledge-intensive ones. If you want to know more about this project, please feel free to contact us.
